Mike just recently passed away and I was saddened with the news.  Mike was one who's smile had you wondering waht was up his sleeve.  But his smile was authentic.  We were in the same boy scout troop and he always kept our troop meetings lively.  His dad couched our baseball team back in 58-59, and I just thought the world of his family, all of whom preceeded him in death.  To bad I never got a chance to see him later in life.

The Red Hats vs. the Blue Hats for the championship!

Michael Casey's dad coached the blue hats. I pitched for the red hats. Tight game. He tried to psych me out, but I had a secret weapon--my coache's georgious daughter cheering for me--I couldn't let her down!

We won!

Mike and I had a couple of sport confrontations other than baseball. In jr. high I ran against him in the 400 yard race for the championship of 9th grade, a school record came out of that one, and wrestled him for the final spot on the high school wrestling team.  Seemed like we were always pitted against one another. Fun times!

Along with probably half the girls in the 6th grade I had a crush on Mike.  His smile was infectious and he was just a nice guy.  So sorry this world has lost you Mike.
