I have a rather unique perspective of Brigitte. One of my best high school friends Vance Eggers along with Kent Maxfield and I spent a lot of time hanging around Brigette and Margaret Ann Nebeker at her house by the U. Vance had a thing for Brigitte so it was natural to show up at Margaret Ann's home and hang out, lots. Double dates, dances etc.etc.
I had a special bond with Brigitte. She toutered me in French; I got an A! I got to know her personally quite well during our visits. We talked about almost everything.
When I went to Sweden for my mission, I corresponded with her in France with the idea to visit her when I was released. When the time came I learned the time I wanted to visit was also her wedding! So I got to be the one representative from West High at her wedding. What a fantastic time. I stayed in her home.
At her personal reception with her husband just for personal friends in her home she found out a little bit about a mission and me. I went through the line. She was kissing everyone. When it got to me she was going to kiss me too except I held out my hand and shook her's. She looked at me surprised and said "you've sure changed." I wasn't released yet. Missionaries don't kiss girls.
Later when we got together for our 50th birthday celebration cruise, she ended up being my date when my wife couldn't attend the shows.
We also share the fact we both have blood cancer. It got her first.
I miss you much, see you soon my sweet French delight.
