As the Director of Streets, Sanitation and Snow Removal for Salt Lake City Public Works Department (10 years), I retired after 37 years of service. I started working for the Public Works Department in 1967 as a laborer with the street division. I advanced through all the job classifications ( laborer-senior operator) while is was attending night school at the U of U. I then advanced from Assistant Superintendent, to labor relations representative for Public Works, to Director of Sanitation, Snow Removal and Fleet Management, and finished my last 10 years as Director of Streets for the Public Works Department.
